Introducing: STÅL

STÅLDescribing their sound as having “soaring, epic melodies, quirky guitars and powerful drums”, Danish band STÅL do little to prepare their audience for the humongous onslaught of pop charge they omit from their two pairs of hands.

The project belongs to Line Sørensen and Nikolaj Bundvig, a duo whose collaboration goes far beyond the standard male-meets-female contribution. Sørensen plays guitar to amazing effect, especially on new track “Keep Moving” where the calypso jolt of her chosen instrument borders insanely good. Keeping a steady pace in the background is Bundvig on drums; consistent and dependable, it's a match made in heaven. Combined STÅL rival the likes of Wild Beasts and Future Islands; offering a welcomed change to the high testosterone levels known to the arena previous.

STÅL, which means ‘steel’ in Danish, formed at the end of 2013 but have already made a great impression on their scene, picking up praise from all and sundry thanks to a recent video for “Keep Moving”, which is available to stream below. The band will release their debut EP Charms & Bells in August.
