Introducing: Sea Change

Sea ChangeHailing from Flekkefjord, Norway, but now based in Berlin, Germany, and having already made a splash in London, UK; before we even begin our introduction, it’s clear that Sea Change is a woman of the world.

In fact the new single from the erstwhile traveller, “Let’s Dance” suggests Sea Change is a woman from another planet entirely. Speckled with synth and key chimes, the song bares no resemblance to the David Bowie glam concoction of the same name. Instead think of Lykke Li, Fever Ray, or Austra without the pummeling. The track mainly comprises weightless vocals and simmering punch lines, but it’s still utterly and undeniably fab, sinking into the space between ethereal and electronica with ease. Sea Change also takes her stage name from Beck’s 2002 album, and his influence rings true throughout “Let’s Dance”.

The project of Ellen W Sundes, Sea Change has already accrued support from the likes of NME and The Line of Best Fit, who recently made “Let’s Dance” their song of the day. Currently touring Iceland, Sundes is sure to touch down on UK ground soon.
