Introducing: Gossling

GosslingThere’s some Midas touch weirdness going on in the new video for Gossling’s “Harvest of Gold”. Faced with a psychotic looking grass cutter, our female protagonist Helen Croome finds herself serving tea while serenading a group of old people playing bowls. The term ‘surreal’ doesn’t do the short justice.

Fortunately Gossling’s musical résumé is not so hard to swallow. The aforementioned front woman Croome rubs shoulders with Alex Winston and fellow Australian pop mistress Washington in the vocal department; calling skylark in a sometimes peculiar fashion. Joined by bandmates Peter Marin on drums, Josh Jones on bass and Ryan Meeking on guitar, there’s also a Petite Meller clank to the Melbourne band’s instrumentation, rising them above the normal radio fodder. That, fortunately enough for Gossling, is exactly how we here at DrunkenWerewolf like to take our pop.

Signed to Dew Process and quickly racking up acclaim across the world, Gossling has been making music together since 2008. With a trio of self-released EPs already under their belt, “Heart of Gold” is the eponymous lead track from their fourth EP, due for release later in the year.
