Bristol Ladyfest countdown: Rosie Wilby

With less than a week to go until Bristol Ladyfest kicks off, read on to find out a little more about the five fantastic comedians performing at the What The Frock! comedy gig that wraps up the festival on Sunday night.

Compered by Rosie Wilby, your funny bones will be tickled by double act O’Shea & Ogilvie, as well as Bristol’s own Elf Lyons, and the inimitable Zahra Barri – who had the honour of opening the very first WTF! at the sold-out Arnolfini in May.

Funny Women 2006 finalist Rosie has taken four solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, and appeared on Radio 4's Loose Ends, Midweek and Woman’s Hour as well as headlining Sydney Mardi Gras. Among many other things, Rosie presents Resonance 104.4FM’s LGBT show Out in South London every Tuesday at 6.30pm, and her Odd Ones Out podcast with fellow lesbian comedian Rachel Holmes is available on iTunes.

Rosie describes her style as “a bit surreal”, having “a slightly whimsical edge” and says she enjoys a good yarn. And she’s no stranger to Bristol, adding: “I've always really enjoyed gigs I've done in Bristol, it seems like a good, comedy literate kind of place”.
