Video: Tigercub release subtly sinister “By Design”

TigercubHaving just finished a huge headline European tour, Brighton three-piece Tigercub are back and causing chaos, with a new video and a host of UK festival appearances.

The video is for the single "By Design", taken from their album Abstract Figures In The Dark, which was released in 2016. It's an atmospheric splicing together of live tour footage and imagery taken from pioneering American photographers Ralph Steiner's 1930 film, Mechanical Principles. The visually engaging shots from Steiner create a brooding sub plot that lingers between shots of the band on tour. The effect is energetic, almost dizzying and like the single itself, hints at something sinister beneath the surface.

Abstract Figures in The Dark is out now on Alcopop! Records. You missed Tigercub on tour and want to get your fix this summer, you can see them performing at the following 2017 festivals:

July - 6th @ 2000 Trees, Cheltenham // 22nd @ Westival, Aldershot// 23rd @ Y Not Festival, Oxfordshire // 23rd @ TRUCK Festival, Oxfordshire // 28th @ Y Not Festival, Newcastle

August - 26th @ Reading Festival, Reading // 27th @ Leeds Festival, Leeds

September - 2nd @ Bingley Music Festival, York
