Video: St. Vincent returns with emotional “New York”, announces UK tour dates

New YorkArt rock's undisputed champ Annie Clark - aka St. Vincent - is back with a gorgeous new track, "New York", and she's announced a handful of UK & Ireland tour dates to boot.

Released via Loma Vista Recordings/Caroline International, the new track coincides with the recently announced ‘Fear The Future Tour’ tickets going on sale today.

“New York” is the latest new work from St. Vincent, who won the Best Alternative Music Album GRAMMY® for her self-titled album, which topped many of 2014's album of the year lists, including The Guardian, Entertainment Weekly and NME. Shortly after the album’s release she performed with a reformed Nirvana at the 2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and on the 2014 season finale of Saturday Night Live.

Clark's new track, however, finds her returning to the softer sounds of previous albums Actor and Strange Mercy, eschewing St. Vincent's jittery guitar lines for a heartfelt piano tribute to city life. Recalling LCD Soundsystem's modern classic "New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down", the song appears to be a hymnal for a lost companion (who may or may not be Cara Delvigne); regardless, the subject remains "the only motherfucker in the city who'll forgive me".

Check out St. Vincent's UK & Ireland tour dates, and listen to new track "New York" below:

October - 17th @ 02 Academy Brixton, London // 18th @ 02 Apollo, Manchester // 20th @  Olympia Theatre, Dublin // 21st @  Olympia Theatre, Dublin
