Stream: Skott shares meaningful ballad “Wolf”

WolfSinger songwriter Skott has unveiled "Wolf", the second track from her debut double sided  7" single.

Skott explains the meaning behind "Wolf", saying: "Sometimes you can't control what you feel - no matter how we change ourselves on the surface, there's an instinct inside of us we can't ignore. ‘Wolf’ is about not giving up on what your heart truly desires.

I see the woods where I grew up when I hear the song. I recall something pure, natural and wild, it makes me feel empowered in some way."

"Wolf" follows Skott's broadly acclaimed debut single "Porcelain". Alongside the widespread media support the single recieved , it also received a  stamp of approval from Lorde.

Skott says she grew up in a remote small town forest commune run by ‘outcast’ folk musicians. The small supportive community exposed her to music while she grew up in this unorthodox childhood, however Skott didn’t actually hear any contemporary music until she went to the city for the first time in her mid-teens.

Skott will make her live debut in August, performing at this year’s Way Out West festival in Sweden. She then heads to London for two nights in September, ahead of a slot at the Pitchfork Music Festival, Paris in October. See a full list below.

September - 13th @ Way Out West, Gothenburg // 28th @ Notting Hill Arts Club, London // 29th @ Birthdays, London

October - 26th @ Pitchfork Music Festival, Paris

"Wolf" is out now on Chess Club/B3SCI.
