Video: Quiet Boy challenge prejudice with new single “Supergirl”

SupergirlNever a band to mince their words, Quiet Boy hit out with new single and video, "Supergirl" to confront the misunderstanding and persecution of the LGBTQ community with a full on polyrhythmic punch.

With the video, the multi-instrumentalist 5-piece have once again managed to stitch together something that is both classic performance art and quirky electro-glitch pop for an overall effect that is as powerful as it is infectious.  The single challenges us not to be labeled by other people's prejudices as the protagonist is seen literally washing away those words used by some to degrade and humiliate LGBTQ individuals. This is all beautifully rendered by the band's trademark low-fi sound and visual palette; an unmistakable swirling of strings, piano, and gritty attitude. "Supergirl" is taken from Quiet Boy's debut EP Earwig, out on the 2nd June 2017 and sits alongside BBC Introducing favourite "Redeem" - yet another dose of peculiar musical perfection. Earwig was produced (with Gareth Tomlinson and band member Russell Ditchfield) by Nick Trepka (Emmy The Great, Speech Debelle).

Quiet Boy will also be hitting some live shows this summer including a no doubt knockout performance at this year's Glastonbury Festival.  Tickets and more information is available here.
