Tristen streams Sneaker Waves to celebrate UK release

Sneaker WavesToday we're very excited to say you can listen to a full stream of Tristen Gaspadarek's new album, Sneaker Waves (which is West-coast talk for an "unpredictable departure from the ordinarily gentler waves lapping at the sand"). Released in July in the USA, the record is now available to purchase in the UK through iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. You can stream the whole darn thing via Spotify below.

Tristen first caught our attention back in 2011 with her second album Charlatans At The Garden Gate, including breakthrough songs "Eager for Your Love" and "Save Raina". Since then the talented musician had shared the stage with Jenny Lewis as a touring band member and sometimes-support, and she also regularly collaborates with Caitlin Rose and Buddy Hughen - while also finding time to release another album in follow-up C A V E S (2013).

Sneaker Waves itself features Lewis, Rose and Hughen, and loads more. It was released over the pond on 7th July 2017 via Tristen's own label, Modern Outsider and garnered praise from the likes of NPR, who delivered the US premiere last summer. It's not hard to hear why - full of catchy, melodic ear worms that wash over the listener, it pulls from all four corners of Tristen's career to date and touches on genres as wide as Americana and alt-pop. Plus, lead single "Glass Jar" features backing vocals from the aforementioned Jenny Lewis, which is no bad thing.

Tristen says of the release: “All the good poetry is about death. Death, like a sneaker wave, can come at any moment. And so the truest currency for a human becomes time.
