Premiere: Siv Jakobsen captures the tranquility of her music in “Bullet” video

siv jakobsenIt's been a while since we wrote about the gorgeous work of Norwegian artist, Siv Jakobsen. Today the singer songwriter returns in style with the premiere of a captivating new video for her equally impressive song, "Bullet". Take a sneak peak exclusively on DrunkenWerewolf below.

Jakobsen takes influence from the steely white landscape of her hometown, Asker; a port in Norway that's bound in Viking tradition. There are no pitchforks nor bloodied fists in the video for "Bullet", however; instead the short sweetly recounts the trials, tribulations and memorable moments of Siv Jakobsen's life on the road last year. Music aside, the video is extremely well shot and edited, perfectly capturing the essence of life on the road as a folk musician, and ultimately the tranquility artists find when others appreciate their work.

"Bullet" and indeed all of Siv's work to date is something to appreciate, after all. Unassuming from the off, the song slides in and softly grabs your neck to pull you closer, demonstrating Jakobsen's profound ability to craft bewitching melodies. Drawing comparison to fellow DrunkenWerewolf favourite Rachael Dadd, there's also a gentle wisdom to Siv's lyrics that are matched by layered instruments, including some well placed, restrained strings and the gentle strum of her guitar.

The single comes in the wake of 2015's The Lingering EP which was recorded in a lo-fi setting in Brooklyn, New York. With time also spent in Europe touring alongside SOAK and Highasakite, alongside exposure from indie airwave staples BBC 6Music and Amazing Radio, Siv looks set to rise the ranks of the music world fast in 2016. She starts her onslaught with another support slot, this time alongside Ciaran Lavery.
