Video: Nadine Shah pulls no punches with “Out The Way”

Out the WayWith her third album Holiday Destinations due for release on 25th August 2017, Nadine Shah is grabbing attention yet again with the unveiling of her new video for the dark and poignant single "Out The Way". A BBC6 playlist favourite, "Out The Way" puts a knife to the political throat on issues of immigration and globalisation and draws blood with a frankness that is at points uncomfortable.

The video is no less defiant. It harks back to a previous time of persecution and misunderstanding during the Salem witch trials and Nadine Shah's piercing eyes dare you to look away and not see the injustice she sees around her.  As a second generation immigrant, it is a truth that resonates so deeply with Shah that "Out The Way" feels like a personal portrait of her own experience.

The single and its iconic video is a first from the new album, which is being released via 1965 Records.
