Introducing: TT

TTThe new solo project of Warpaint guitarist and vocalist Theresa Wayman, TT has just started rustling in the bushes. Brooding, mysterious and suspenseful, the first two singles from her upcoming debut album LoveLaws, due out in May, hint at great things to come.

The album was written by Wayman and features fellow Warpaint members Jenny Lee Lindberg on bass and Stella Mozgawa on drums. TT's shimmering guitar lines and delicate vocals are woven together in intoxicating fashion, thanks in part to Theresa's brother Ivan's production. Lead single "I've Been Fine" - which is accompanied by a contrasting polished, sparkling music video (below) - draws out a quiet first half; the longing refrain, "Why can't you be next to me?" cycling on minimal orchestration; before exploding into a fuller sound in a moment you can just imagine on a TV show about love and angst. As TT says herself about her music, it's "down-tempo, pretty sexy, and a bit emotional. I’m a romantic person in a world where a relationship is difficult. But I also needed to be on my own and not force having a relationship."

Wayman is promoting the album with a tour supporting Nick Mulvey, including his big show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, as well as playing her own intimate London showcase at the Pickle Factory on 23rd May 2018.
