Introducing: Sam Evian

Sam EvianSam Evian is the project of New York-based musician, songwriter and producer Sam Owens. It’s an exciting time right now for Sam, who's set to release his brand-new album You, Forever on 1st June 2018 through Saddle Creek; his first exploration of a more soul-baring lyrical style.

The new album was written after touring his previous project Premium, which opened Sam’s eyes to the importance of feel and interaction. Looking to experiment with a new musical direction and embrace a sense of limitation, he quickly developed a new set of instrumental songs written for a band rather than just himself and recorded them on a Tascam four-track cassette recorder at his parent’s home in North Carolina.

Then, enlisting the help of Brian Betancourt on bass, Austin Vaughn on drums, Adam Brisbin on guitar, and Hannah Cohen on backup vocals, Sam recorded an 8-track reel-to-reel tape in July of 2017, exposing the rawness and live vibe of the original recording with no tuning pedals in use.

The first single "Health Machine" was received well by critics, and Sam is following up with the release of "IDGAF", a beautifully atmospheric track with a very interesting origin.
