With Twin Atlantic producer Bruce Rintoul steering the ship on “Calm”, there’s a newfound sense of purpose and professionalism that could see this riotous quartet make big strides this year.
With a new EP also set to drop on 26th May 2017, there will be plenty more new music to enjoy from Pleasure House in 2017.
The new production has taken the rough edges off their earlier material and allowed a far more refined outfit to establish themselves. Retaining the irrepressible intensity and lively riffs of their earlier work, the band are starting to show the sort of maturity and social commentary that mark them out for special attention.
After a stint supporting the likes of Sundara Karma, Black Honey, and Fickle Friend, the four-piece have a hectic touring schedule of 13 live dates ahead of them this year, starting with Handmade Festival in Leicester at the end of April.
Joining lead singer Alex Heffernan are Abbas Shah on guitar, bassist Jon Moore and drummer James Burgess, Pleasure House are gradually refining and evolving the sort of indie rock that saw Swim Deep make themselves household names. Alongside Goodnight Lenin, JAWS, and Superfood, Pleasure House are at the vanguard of an exciting group of new acts coming out of the Midlands over the past few years, having reinvigorated the area’s music scene.
With more new releases due over the next few months, it’s worth keeping an eye on these four during 2017.
