Introducing: Pink Skies

Pink SkiesThe self-dubbed 'escapism pop' of Pink Skies has an infectious charm and a groove that is guaranteed to get you dancing. The Oakland-based singer songwriter, guitarist and producer, Arieh Berl, creates his music very much in the psychedelic vein of Tame Impala.

2017 was an exciting year for the Californian - his cover of the 6LACK track "Gettin' Old", instrumentally a completely new take on the song, forced its way onto Spotify's Fresh Finds playlist and caught the ear of the North American blogosphere. And he generously donated all the income from Bandcamp sales to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund to help those affected by the disaster.

He follows this all up with his latest single, which he describes as "probably one of the more honest songs I've ever written". "Reflections" is bright and uplifting, with a certain swagger threaded through it. Produced with Kevin Brunhober of Interscope, and released via Los Angeles and Toronto-based indie label Huh What & Where, it has been quickly growing Pink Skies' online presence, vindicating the three years he spent crafting it. Where he's been building a loyal following on his home turf, you feel Berl is on the cusp of breaking out to a much wider audience.
