Introducing: Novo Amor

Novo AmorIf you've ever walked around the mountains of Wales and admired the gorgeous variety of landscapes there, the beauty of Novo Amor's music will come as no surprise to you. Hailing from Llanidloes, he creates shimmering Bon Iver inspired indie folk at its absolute finest. Sometimes it's ok to feel sad, and his music, painting a deep melancholic mood with richly orchestrated soundscapes, is the sort of music you can listen to when feeling really sad to intensify and ride those waves of emotion...

Real name Ali Lacey, the 26-year-old multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and producer found his true sound when he offered to score the soundtrack for a film his friend was producing. "From Gold", the resulting song, rewarded him with an explosive breakthrough onto the scene. He's since built a healthy online following, garnering well in excess of 100,000 Spotify followers and tens of millions of streams.

Given his beginnings, it's unsurprising Novo Amor has had a rich vein of success in the world of sync, picking up two awards at the Music Week Awards. "Anchor", a breathtaking number from his Bathing Beach EP featuring his falsetto vocals and a picked acoustic guitar, is the track that first drew our attention. No wonder it's been used on a stream of films and TV shows, including Shadowhunters and The Royals.
