Introducing: LPX

LPXLPX is the exciting new solo project of Lizzy Plapinger, best known as the frontwoman of alt-pop superstars MS MR. A hiatus, after 6 years of non-stop touring, provided her with the perfect opportunity to explore her own soundscape last summer, culminating in "Tightrope" and "Tremble" - two strong opening shots to signal her new solo path. She's now quickly garnering attention in her own right - with a musical style describes as 'Pantone punk' - including a feature in Buzzfeed's 18 Emerging Artists To Watch In 2018.

In a recent interview with Wonderland Magazine about her debut EP, Bolt in the Blue, released earlier this year, she talks about relishing the freedom to make unbridled artistic and commercial decisions about her work. As you might expect, the inventions of a woman who, in her early 20s, also co-founded a successful and eclectic boutique label in Neon Gold (counting the likes of HAIM and Christine and the Queens among their ranks) is a sound that is both current and distinctive. Punchy, heavily compressed vocals over slick, alt-pop textures - synths, electric guitars, drums, occasional piano - define her high energy style. She reveals her ambition with the project - to fill the often male-occupied space of stadium and indie rock with this powerful and driving sound while keeping its sincerity intact: "Everything to do with this project has been about being the loudest, most aggressive but still vulnerable version of myself".

Below you can check out the mildly psychedelic music video for "Tremble".
