Introducing: Kye Alfred Hillig

Kye Alfred HilligHere’s a long title if ever there was one. “The Church Street Saint Leads the Marching Band for Truth” is the new track from Kye Alfred Hillig. It’s an understated corker. Far from peddling the honky-tonk ramblings of an evangelical troubadour, the demo pushes a sound that will spin Americana fans into a tizz for the next twelve months.

Kye Alfred Hillig is based in Tacoma, WA and released his debut album Togeher Thrpgh It All in 2013 through BandCamp. A hardened DIY musician, Hillig’s since locked himself away, hard at work on his as of yet untitled 2014 follow up. “The Church Street Saint Leads the Marching Band for Truth” is the world’s first glimpse of the results. It’s a chugging, wandering furore into the South; refreshed by Kye Alfred Hillig’s ingenious way with words and storyteller spit.

Kye Alfred Hillig will take to the streets of Washington and Oregon in January to tour his new material. There’s no mention of a UK visit on the horizon, but with songs this good, it won’t be long.
