Introducing: Josef Salvat

Our first chillwave meets pop introducing of the year goes to Josef Salvat.

A law graduate from Sydney, in 2010 he decided to pack his bags for London to focus on his music career. A wise move, as his talents have led to him being backed by the biggest names in the industry – amongst them Fader and Disco Naiveté - and he's set to release his as-of-yet untitled debut within the next few months.

Displaying the same vocal tendencies as James Blake and Dan Smith out of Bastille, Salvat puts his to a similar use, churning out pop hits that ooze confidence with an unreal, crisp cool finish. Don’t dismiss this as the same-old same-old too soon, though. Salvat has his own skill set as a producer and adds plenty of flourish to his original material, aptly demonstrated on current lead song “This Life”.
