Introducing: Haunted House

front cover 700None other than the late, great John Peel called Lianne Hall "one of the great English voices". Haunted House began as a collaboration between Lianne and Orbital's Paul Hartnoll. After Lianne moved to Berlin, the pitfalls of long distance collaboration threatened to become overwhelming, until Berlin sound artist Alexandre Decoupigny stepped in. Alexandre helped Lianne turn Paul's tracks into full-fledged songs.

The result is moody, ambient electronica with Lianne's vocals at times mysterious and brooding, then soaring unto heights of vocal prowess worthy of Imogen Heap. Speaking of which, it seems to this reviewer at least that seminal UK duo Frou Frou continues to cast a long shadow over lo-fi electronic pop more than a decade after their disbanding.

Haunted House's first release is the single "Lost in a Forest/Shoulders". "Lost in a Forest" is an underground hit waiting to happen, its galloping electronic beat carrying a melody that happily lodges itself into your subconsciousness till you can't help but hum along. Haunted House will be touring in the near future and a forthcoming album Brave The Woods is due for release October 2014 on Lianne’s own label, Malinki Records.

Hello Jaci, the track’s hosted by Soundcloud through Haunted House so I can’t help with that I’m afraid, but it’s working for me!
