News: Farmfest announces more acts for 2016 line up

Farmfest 2016Farmfest have just announced that Mercury Prize winning band Young Fathers will bring their notoriously fierce live act to the festival's main stage this year. Previously touring with Massive Attack, the band are one not to be missed.

Also announced, rising stars GoGo Penguin have been building a reputation with their acoustic reinterpretations of electronic songs. Their new album Man-made Object is set for release on Blue Note, making them one of very few British bands to put a release out on the prestigious label.

For those who like their festivals to come with a nice slice of jazz, New Orlean's The Hot 8 Brass Band will be bringing big brass jazz to the festival. Blending covers with new and funk filled original numbers, the band are sure to get your toes tapping.

Bentley Rhythm Ace will appeal to all the old school ravers out there. The reformed duo will bring their big beat extravaganza to Farmfest 2016, while joining the big names on the line up are Dutch trio My Baby, Brooklyn based singer/songwriter Shilpa Ray and French duo Holy Two. Further home-grown talent comes in the form of the widely and critically acclaimed Haiku SalutRachael Dadd and Plastic Mermaids.

Heading up the live electronic segment of the festival will be Lone whose track "Airglow Fires" on legendary Belgium label R&S Records won Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards Track of the Year 2014.

Speaking of Gilles Peterson, the man himself will be heading down to Farmfest to grace their unique combine harvester DJ booth. He'll be joined by Belgian DJ Lefto, Bristol's Kowton and Manchester’s Hoya:Hoya resident  Jon K.

It's already a spectacular line up. But with plenty of acts still to be announced, the Comedy and Spoken Word tent and activities for both adults and children, Farmfest 2016 is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the year.
