Rock and roll three piece Dream Wife have quickly become known as one of the United Kingdom's most impressive up and coming bands. Ahead of their American debut at SXSW and tour with The Kills the band now share an anthemic new single, "Somebody".
On "Somebody" a driving bass line meets elegant yet gritty guitars to reinforce the lyrical message of the song - "I am not my body, I am somebody."
Dream Wife say of the song: ""Somebody" is a ballad for women. The song explores the experience of living in a female body within our society. It's a conversation on the reclamation of bodies by the women who occupy them in a tender, yet direct and empowering way."
Dream Wife released their debut EP last year, which earned them exposure on BBC Radio 1, 6Music, Beats 1, and KEXP, as well as massive support from The FADER, Dazed, The Guardian, i-D, NME, and more. The band has also garnered a well-deserved reputation for their exhilarating live shows, having sold out venues across the UK and Europe, played festivals such as Iceland Airwaves, and toured with the likes of Sleigh Bells.
The band recently announced they’ll play their biggest headline show to date at London’s 550 capacity Tufnell Park Dome on Thursday 27th April 2017. Preceding this show, Dream Wife will make their stateside debut at the SXSW festival in Austin, followed by a handful of dates supporting The Kills in California. In addition, they will be performing at Great Escape and Blue Dot Festivals, with more announcements to follow.
