Dan Mangan + Blacksmith unveil improvised video for “Pretty Good Joke”

Dan Mangan + Blacksmith unveil improvised video for "Pretty Good Joke"Dan Mangan + Blacksmith have released the improvised video for album track “Pretty Good Joke”. The project was made possible by Playground, who make music that much more personal and unique. In their words “the premise is simple.” Taking Dan Mangan + Blacksmith as the artists, pairing them with an audience of 35 non-musicians and setting them the task of creating a song together in an hour and recording it in one take. The result, well you’ll have to watch the video and see for yourself.

Delegating responsibilities amongst themselves the band worked to re-orchestrate “Pretty Good Joke” into something beautiful, something that was bespoke. With audience members lending their hands to xylophones, marimbas, and piano as well as forming a choir it’s a testament to how music can be created.

As well as the wonderful performance of “Pretty Good Joke” we implore you to check out all the wonderful collaborations that Playground have produced, particularly Shout Out Out Out Out. Don’t let us keep you.
