Critical Heights, a label who's output has forever been intriguing and indispensable, have teamed up with fellow artist house Bad Paintings to release An Unmarketed Product; a cassette album full of covers of the essential 90's lo-fi band Guided By Voices. The tape will be released in a limited 200 copies, available only to those who arrive nice and early to the album's launch party on Sunday 18th May at The Lexington in London.
The 2-side, fifteen track collection was mastered and sequenced by Savaging Spires, with Critical Heights/Bad Paintings acts contributing to the cassette including Keel Her, Fawn Spots, Worm, Sam Forrest and Echo Brigades. An Unmarketed Product will be sold alongside cassette versions of all the recent Guided By Voices albums at the launch show, which will be hosted by comedian Stewart Lee with a performance by actor/director Paddy Considine's band Riding The Low.
