Premiere: Carol Cleveland Sings’ new space psych song “Crimson Colored Mantel”

carol-cleveland-singsToday we premiere the new song from Carol Cleveland Sings - the new project from Thomas Hughes (The Spinto Band) and musician Gretchen Lohse. Stream "Crimson Colored Mantel" below.

Lohse adds a psych folk infused element to the song, which also incorporates bedroom and lo fi tendencies, alongside Hughes' distinct songwriting skills. Taken from the project's forthcoming debut album - due out on 30th September 2016 - combined Carol Cleveland Sings sit in the same vinyl stand as Stealing Sheep and Georgia Ruth, with even more of a purist psych edge.

"It's kind a dreamy drum machine psych pop." Hughes says, explaining the song. "Kind of Young Marble Giants meets Magnetic Fields. It's one of my favorite performances of Gretchen on the album."
