Festival: packed line up announced for Blissfields 2017

There are just 10 weeks to go until Blissfields opens its gates once more to the weird and wonderful and the packed weekend lineup has finally been announced.

Once again the weekend crams in some seriously good music with a little something for everyone whatever your musical penchant. If you haven’t got your tickets yet then do so immediately! You can buy them from the festival website.

In the meantime here are our highlights for what is set to be the best Blissfields yet.

If you can make early doors then do so because Thursday (5th July 2017) night kicks off on the Larch stage with Jedi scratchmaster DJ Yoda and his Stranger Things mixtape. No doubt perfectly blending classic funk, soul, dance and a frankly strange smattering of YouTube style humour, this set promises to be the perfect start to your weekend.

Follow this up on Friday 6th July 2017 with the haunting sounds of The Cinematic Orchestra headlining on the aptly named Theatre of Bizarre stage.  This is the kind of change of pace Blissfields likes to throw in to keep the audience on their toes. If you want to keep the energy high there’s still plenty going on at the Larch stage with the Electric Swing Orchestra and Dub 51 as well as at the Hidden Hedge where electronic pop and dance will be de rigueur.

If you still have anything left for Saturday then head back to the Theatre of Bizarre for Metronomy. The product of a synth and rock one-night stand, Metronomy will finish their UK tour at Blissfields so be prepared for some serious psychedelia.

With 6 stages in total, there’s more music than you can shake a muddy wellie at so head on over to the festival website and grab your ticket whilst you still can.
